For 20 years, Audencia has been strongly committed to entrepreneurship and now has a team of seven entrepreneurship faculty members. So it is quite naturally that during three days on last April (from 3rd to 6th April), the school welcomed the 4th Annual Entrepreneurship as practice conference & Phd Consortium. Three days during which the 70 attendees could alternate between theoretical issues, methodological issues and paper development workshops.
A dream came true
For this new version, the organizers* wanted to innovate. They began to dream of a new concept last year, during the annual conference in Vaaxjo. The committee were looking for something more interactive, more original. As a result, they imagined a conference in three complementary blocks that would give attendees a feeling of what EaP (Entrepreneurship-as-Practice) research is, how to design it, for what research and contributions. This 4th version of the conference aims to advance understanding of entrepreneurship as practice, foster network ties, facilitate collaborative writing relationships and build a strong community of practice scholars.
To do so, the organizers have conceived a Research Conference and PhD Symposium that educates interested scholars as well as developing empirical and conceptual papers regarding the “practice turn” taking place in entrepreneurship studies.
This version has also been the occasion to invite two keynote speakers in the entrepreneurial world: Silvia Gherardi, Head of the RUCOLA research Unit at the University of Trento, Italy, and world-renowned practice-based researcher, and Richard Whittington, Professor of Strategic Management at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, leader in the field of Strategy as Practice research.
